WINEWEEKENDS VENUES
ASPEN HOUSE
Aspen house is an intimate and comfortable little place expertly run. Avowed foodies Sally and Rob trawl the local farmer’s markets, browbeat the best butchers,
stalk the finest sausage makers, raid the delis and dairies, and hotly pursue the local cheese makers, to get the quality they require to please their guests.
Their menus are always interesting and varied with Rob eager to show us another aspect of the rich treasure that is Herefordshire cuisine, with a few tasty nuances learned from his polish mother. A very tasty experience.
THE OLD MILL
Carol provides local fare garnered from field, stream and market. The Mill is cosy and homely with Carol constantly popping in to the party to enquire if we have all that we need.
Wine is poured in Carol's little lounge, every sniff and mouthfeel to be humourously discussed, analysed and savoured. After the tasting, a feast of beef or lamb, with vegetables. Guaranteed to gladden the heart. Everyone's welcome around Carol's bottle smothered table.
KENTCHURCH COURT
Kentchurch Court is a magnificant old building dripping with character. It has a horsey and houndy feel and has nestled for centuries in the shadow of the lovely, remote, heather clad Garway Hill in one of the most tranquil parts of Herefordshire.
The terraced room, where we hold our wine tastings, is long and elegant with a massive log fire, an ancient piano and subtle lighting. There is the library and the more popular billiard room giving plenty of opportunity to relax and converse in different circumstances. Kentchurch Court is an unusual but very memorable experience.
